Guided Forest Bathing is an opportunity to connect with nature and experience one of our local trails in a new way. During this 2.5 hour experience, we will balance leisurely strolling, observation and reflection, and solo time. Our certified guide, Debby Singleton, will offer invitations for safely engaging with nature through our sense of sight, smell, touch, hearing, and taste. This is an opportunity to slow down, unplug, destress, and practice presence in the moment. Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, which translates to “bathing in the forest”, this immersion is an opportunity to experience the restorative benefits of the forest around us. At the end of our immersion, we will share our experiences with a peaceful tea ceremony.
Our guided experience will take place at Pinnacle Park in Sylva, NC. Pinnacle Park is the only certified forest therapy trail in North Carolina, and one of 20 in the world. (https://www.anft.earth/certified-trails) The lower trail system of Pinnacle Park provides a full sensory experience as we leisurely walk through a forest of evergreens and hardwoods; beside bubbling creeks; alongside towering rhododendron and mountain laurel; and forest floor rich with ferns, wildflowers, and fungi.
Cost is $35 per participant. MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND
