RECITAL HALL - COULTER BUILDING
The Fall Choral Concert Thursday, 30 October, 7:30 p.m. in the Coulter Recital Hall features student ensembles University Chorus, Early Music Ensemble and Concert Choir. The University Chorus will sing, among other choral compositions, choruses from oratorios by G. F. Handel and Felix Mendelssohn, and a sparkling arrangement of "Down by the Riverside." The Early Music Ensemble will present music composed before 1750, including an English madrigal, a French chanson, and two Baroque sacred pieces with keyboard. The Concert Choir will sing a variety of literature, including a lovely composition for chorus and piano by Brahms, a soothingly beautiful sacred Renaissance setting by Palestrina, a majestic Russian sacred chorus, a very moving setting of a Scottish folk song, a rhythmically exciting arrangement of a spiritual as well as a few other pieces. Please join us! It will last about an hour and there is no admission charge. Dr. Michael Lancaster Director of Choral Activities
